Former Dallas Cowboys head coach Jimmy Johnson has told Sky Sports' Richard Graves that Bill Belichick is the greatest ever NFL coach.
Johnson, who secured back-to-back Super Bowls with the Cowboys in 1992 and 1993, believes Belichick has done wonders with the New England Patriots in the era of the salary cap.
Belichick and Tom Brady not only are the NFL's most successful coach and quarterback duo, they've nearly lapped their closest competition.
They are preparing for their record seventh Super Bowl on Sunday when they take on the Atlanta Falcons in Houston, while only three other coaches reached the Super Bowl with the same quarterback as many as four times.
Belichick is the only coach since the NFL put in a salary cap starting in the 1994 season to win four Super Bowls and legend Johnson told Sky Sports News HQ: "The Patriots have been outstanding defensively and that's one reason why they're in the Super Bowl.
"I think Bill Belichick is the best coach to have coached in the NFL. He's better than anyone that's ever coached.
"Not to take anything away from some of the great coaches from past years but before the salary cap and before the free agency, a coach got a great team and they stayed together for years and years. Now, you've got a different rosta every year in the NFL today."
