The San Diego Chargers stunned the Baltimore Ravens 34-33 with a fourth-quarter comeback, scoring the game-winner with seconds to play.
Philip Rivers capped a frantic drive with a one-yard touchdown pass to Eddie Royal with 38 seconds to go to hand the Chargers a dramatic win at M&T Bank Stadium.
The Chargers (8-4) trailed 30-20 with 6:13 remaining and 33-27 with 2:22 left before Rivers inspired a sensational comeback.
Following a pass interference call against Anthony Levine in the end zone, Rivers hit Royal to conclude an 80-yard march to the Chargers' third straight win.
The Ravens, who were 11-0 all-time at home against West Coast teams, suffered their first home defeat in the month of November in five years.
Andrew Luck threw a career-high five touchdown passes and topped the 300-yard mark for a franchise-record 10th time this season, leading the Indianapolis Colts past the Washington Redskins 49-27.
Luck was 19 of 27 for 370 yards and had TD passes of 30, 3, 48, 73 and 79 yards.
He broke Peyton Manning's mark for most 300-yard games in one season and joined Manning and Dan Marino as the only quarterbacks to top 4,000 yards in two of their first three seasons.
Quarterback Kyle Orton and defensive end Jerry Hughes scored touchdowns 10 seconds apart in the third quarter in leading the Buffalo Bills to a 26-10 win over the Cleveland Browns as they improved to 7-5 on the season.
Bengals scramble
The Cincinnati Bengals remained on top of the AFC North standings after scraping by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 14-13 after climbing out of a hole.
The home side took a 10-0 lead at Raymond James Stadium but Andy Dalton ran in a touchdown before finding AJ Green for another score to turn things around.
JJ Watt and Ryan Fitzpatrick both produced sensational displays as the Houston Texans cruised to a 45-21 victory against the Tennessee Titans at NRG Stadium.
Quarterback Fitzpatrick, returning to the line-up after being benched earlier in the season, threw for 358 yards and six touchdown passes during the drubbing.
Defensive end Watt registered two sacks, recovered a fumble and even caught a touchdown pass after being put into the game on the offensive side of the ball.
The St Louis Rams had an even easier time of it against the Oakland Raiders, thrashing the struggling AFC West outfit 52-0.
Raiders quarterbacks Derek Carr and Matt Schaub both had torrid times, while Rams running back Tre Mason tallied 117 rushing yards and a pair of scores.
The Jacksonville Jaguars fought back from 21-0 down to claim a shock 25-24 win over the New York Giants after Josh Scobee kicked a 43-yard field goal with 29 seconds remaining.
The Carolina Panthers' miserable season continued as they were defeated 31-13 by the Minnesota Vikings, who returned two blocked punts for touchdowns.
