Darrelle Revis has signed with the New York Jets in a monster deal, according to his agents.
The cornerback - the best free agent on the market - signed a $70m, five-year deal which will guarantee him $39m - with $33m of that coming in his first two years.
It will be quite a return for Revis, who was actually traded by the Jets to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a first and third round pick after a contract dispute.
Revis was then released by the Bucs after issues with the team's coaching staff.
The New England Patriots declined to pick up a $20m option on Revis’ contract after he helped them to a Super Bowl-winning season earlier this week, leaving the Jets to sign the player.
Revis signed with the Pats in 2014 in a two-year, $32m deal, but the deal was always unlikely to remain that way, as the player's costs would have meant that the team would have had to pick up a $25m hit to their salary cap.
He played for $12m in 2014, which was considered quite a bargain considering the player's torn ACL in 2012.
