We have competitive racing to enjoy on Wednesday evening with All-Weather action from Southwell, live on Sky Sports Racing...

7.00 Southwell - Goldinthesea, Penny Time and Sassicaia lock horns

A thrilling encounter awaits in the Come Racing For Free 18th June Novice Stakes as three unexposed colts lock horns.

Goldinthesea rates an intriguing runner having made a recent switch from Joseph O'Brien's yard to Ed Bethell's. He impressed at Dundalk in January and the form has been boosted with the third coming out and winning since, and this son of No Nay Never could have a productive future for new connections.

Penny Time is a very exciting runner and could be anything for trainer Hugo Plamer. He bolted up at Southwell last month, beating a previous winner into second and will bid to pass the post first for the third time in three starts.

Owen Burrows Sassicaia has only seen the track once, when winning at Wolverhampton back in December, and like the other two he remains very much an unknown quantity with the potential for more to come.

Debutant Shadow Boxer cost €520,000 and represents Victorious Forever. The market will tell us more about this colt.

8.00 Southwell - Vencedora, Cool Molly and Rogue Citation clash

Another competitive race this evening comes in the Ladies Day Sunday 16th August Fillies' Handicap as three last-time-out winners clash.

Also See:

Cool Molly is up three pounds after winning the All-Weather Vase Fillies' Handicap at Lingfield 12 days ago. That effort brought up the third win of her career and made it two wins from her last three starts. She has to be respected.

The famous Sheikh Mohammed Obaid colours are carried by Vencedora who has a different profile to Cool Molly as she is lightly raced and remains very unexposed for Karl Burke. She has her first run of the season after winning for the first time in a three-runner race at Newmarket in September.

Rogue Citation represents the The Rogues Gallery and comes here with a similar profile to Vencedora having only run twice, with her only win coming last time out here in October.

It will be very interesting to see how they have wintered and whether they can lie up against a race-fit filly in Cool Molly.

8.30 Southwell - Seven Fires chases hat-trick

Our finale this evening sees Seven Fires attempt to complete a hat-trick on just her fifth career start in the Summer Socials At Southwell Racecourse Fillies' Handicap.

Her two wins both came at Newcastle where she showed a good deal of versatility, making all on debut in February and coming from off the pace to score at the same venue last month back down to five furlongs. She steps back up to the six today and should prove tough to beat.

Top-rated Barefoot Beach has only run twice and bids to bounce back to winning ways having lost little in defeat when second at Kempton last time out, but she showed a good deal of promise to win over the same track and trip on debut last September.

Zighy got off the mark when last seen and George Boughey's filly could yet prove better still having not been out of the three in all five of her starts.

Best of the rest

6.30 Southwell - Betelgeuse seeks another course and distance win.

Happy Valley - Zac Purton, Harry Bentley, Hugh Bowman and Andrea Atzeni all in action.
