We have a busy day’s racing on Thursday with action from Hereford and Ripon, live on Sky Sports Racing...

3.45 Ripon - Sixtygeesbaby and American Style contest feature

The top-rated Sixtygeesbaby and American Style contest a competitive Armstrong Memorial Handicap on the opening day of Ripon's 2026 season.

Sixtygeesbaby is having only his second start for the David O'Meara team after switching from Tom Clover's yard in March. He wasn't beaten far in a decent contest on seasonal return at Doncaster last month and should strip fitter for it.

American Style has struggled to get his head in front, losing his way towards the back end of last season but he has the ability. He just needs things to fall right if he's to return to winning ways. He returns to the scene of his latest success, over the same trip he won over first time up last season.

Modern Times is an interesting contender having not been seen since winning over this course and distance in June of last year and gets a decent chunk of weight from the top two. Hard to rule out.

3.10 Ripon - Storm Esme looks to defy four-pound rise

The unexposed Storm Esme looks to defy a 4lbs rise in the Ripon Silver Bowl Handicap at Ripon.

The Valmont-owned filly looks to start her season on the right foot after winning two from three as a juvenile, debuting at Newcastle, winning by a head and was then pitched into the Two-Year-Old Trophy at Redcar but this proved to be too much for her as she was beaten by eight lengths into 11th. Her season didn't end there though, as she followed that up with a win at Leicester just under two weeks later and she could yet prove better than that.

Top-rated Cotai Belle reopposes Storm Esme as she too was in the same Listed race at Redcar, finishing two places ahead of that rival when sent off 50-1. She arrives here 4lbs worse off at the weights and will need to rediscover some of her early form if she's to return to winning ways on her reappearance.

Wyle Cop has had two starts on the All-Weather this season, winning and finishing third in a pretty warm sprint handicap at Southwell but has fitness on his side and could go well now back on the turf.

6.00 Hereford - Sherborne bids to complete hat-trick

Sherborne takes a step up in class in the Keltruck Ltd Handicap Chase as he bids to complete the hat-trick at Hereford.

The first win of the sequence came in mid-March where he bolted up at Exeter by 14 lengths and followed that up later that month with an emphatic success at Ascot. Given the margins of those two wins, you wouldn't put it past Joe Tizzard's gelding taking this rise in class in his stride and going in again.

Insurrection takes a drop in class having finished down the field in the Kim Muir at Cheltenham in March. He also takes a significant drop in trip but this return to calmer waters should see him in a better light and he could go well.

Black Hawk Eagle is up 3lbs for a win at Chepstow last time out and is in here off a feather-weight so cannot be dismissed.

Best of the rest

4.16 Ripon - Competitive 0-85 handicap.

Eight races from ParisLongchamp, low grade action.
