Hugo Palmer is looking forward to next season with Mengli Khan after he opened his account in convincing fashion at Nottingham on Wednesday.
The son of Lope De Vega confirmed the promise of his debut third at Newmarket to run away with a maiden over an extended mile in a race brimming with unexposed two-year-olds.
Mengli Khan is unlikely to run again this season but he does hold an entry in the Group One Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster on October 24.
"He was very impressive. He's come out of the race great," said Palmer.
"I suspect that might be it for the season, but if he did run again we might look at the Racing Post Trophy.
"He's a really nice prospect for next year."
