Hatch fine despite Newton Abbot fall

Ryan Hatch is reported to be none the worse despite a nasty-looking incident at Newton Abbot on Monday.
The 5lb-claiming conditional was unseated from Tenby Jewel at the first flight in the Newton Abbot Racecourse On Facebook Handicap Hurdle, and appeared to take a kick afterwards.
He was treated on course and stretchered back to the weighing-room as a precaution.
"Ryan is fine. It didn't look good as they strapped him up but that was purely precautionary," said clerk of the course Jason Loosemore.
Richard Johnson also escaped unscathed in a fall from Revani at the third-last obstacle in the same race. However, his mount was badly injured and had to be put down.
Tony McCoy lifted that prize on Honour System (100/30) for trainer John Ferguson and then took his tally for the campaign to 53 on the Kim Bailey-trained Able Deputy (11/8 favourite) in the newtonabbotraces.com Handicap Chase.
