Verdict

Sharp Response showed little in Ireland but must have been working well at Bingley as he was well supported for a novice hurdle here earlier this month and duly obliged. This looks tougher, especially with a penalty, a remark that also applies to Eastview Boy, whose victory at Newcastle in March was gained on heavy going. CLONDAW CRACKER won a point last November and made all in a Warwick bumper in April so he could be the one to be on though Kafella was nowhere near his best when odds-on at Huntingdon in March. Saint Cajetan was given a patient ride on his hurdling debut at Southwell and shaped with promise while Scotchtown should be winning for Nigel Twiston-Davies before long, though he's bred to be a chaser.
