Verdict

Hugo Palmer: "I said to Ryan it's not going to be easy from stall one to ride a waiting race so you'll have to ride it as you see fit. They went hard early, and every furlong he [Moore] moved out a horse's width further off the rail. There's a race over a mile and a quarter at the Istanbul International Meeting for three-year-olds only and it's worth a fortune, so we have that in mind. There's also a mile race at York which we won last year with Short Squeeze and that's a possibility. He's had a hard race today - I hoped the cheekpieces would make a difference and they seem to have done. He was always just getting there. I didn't notice until I made the entry that it was the race we won last year with Ascription. It was no long-term plan because I thought we would take him to Sandown tomorrow night. In this race it was competitive, but we were the only unexposed young horse with the potential to run well. The second the entry came out, Tony Hind, Ryan's agent, rang up and asked if he could ride. Ryan beat us at Sandown last time, and later told Tony he'd like to ride the third next time out."
