John Ferguson: "I came here thinking the ground would be perfect for him. He'd already been to Haydock and the reason I was confident about his ability to go on the surface was that he'd won a Listed race in Ireland on heavy. I wanted him to have a good run round, as he had really thrived since Haydock. But so much today depended on whether he'd improved. He's in all three novice hurdles at Cheltenham, and now we can take our time but I would need to see further improvement before making any decision about which race to go for at the Festival. Another thing that pleased me today was that he was caught for room a couple of times but still jumped really well."
