Castleford Tigers v St Helens: First Utility Super League preview
Last Updated: 18/06/15 10:25pm
St Helens welcome back influential scrum-half Luke Walsh for Thursday’s trip to Castleford Tigers.
Walsh has been sidelined since May 9 after undergoing ankle surgery but the Australian returns to the Super League leaders’ 19-man squad as they seek a sixth successive victory.
Saints are also boosted by the return of young forward Joe Greenwood, who has recovered from the broken leg suffered in the Good Friday defeat at Wigan, while Luke Thompson is also back after missing last weekend’s win over the Warriors with a head knock.
Castleford are on a three-game winning streak and recorded an impressive victory over Leeds at Headingley in their last outing.
The Tigers have Justin Carney and Matt Cook back from long injury lay-offs and both are in contention for the Mend-A-Hose Jungle contest.
“It’s good that we are getting some players back from injury now which will potentially freshen us up,” said Tigers head coach Daryl Powell.
“We have some smart players coming back into the team over the next few weeks which will obviously help us.”
