Huddersfield will be bidding to get their season back on track after last weekend's Challenge Cup hammering, but they could hardly face a tougher task against the Super League leaders.
Giants head coach Nathan Brown - in his first game since announcing his return to Australia at the end of the season - has made just one change to the side crushed 60-4 at home by Warrington.
Second-rower Graeme Horne is replaced by Stephen Wild - one of six ex-Wigan men in the side - who has recovered from a knee injury.
Hooker Shaun Lunt is also back in contention and named in the squad after recovering from an Achilles problem.
Wigan coach Michael Maguire has dropped centre Martin Gleeson and recalled full-back Cameron Phelps.
Australian winger Pat Richards, the league's leading scorer, has overcome the calf injury he suffered in the Challenge Cup win at Widnes.
Second rower Phil Bailey is also recalled after sitting out the win over the Vikings.
Last season Huddersfield did the double over Wigan, winning 48-16 at the Galpharm Stadium and 22-8 at the DW Stadium.
