James Toole is set to join his brother Josh in Ireland's team to face Scotland on Saturday after being called into coach Mark Aston's 20-man squad for the crucial European Championship clash in Dublin.
The siblings both play in Australia but have Irish heritage; Josh was named man of the match for his display in the Wolfhounds' opening 22-12 win over France.
Aston has also decided to recall veteran centre Stuart Littler, a former Ireland captain who is set to win his 16th cap at Tallaght Stadium.
Scotland coach Steve McCormack was forced to make change to the team that beat Wales 42-18, with uncapped forward Joe McLean taking the place of the suspended Jonathan Walker.
McCormack knows all about McLean having coached him at Gloucestershire All Golds, with the 25-year-old on a rugby league scholarship while doing a Masters degree.
"I'm completely overwhelmed by the news," said McLean. "I've been on a steep learning curve and I'm excited at the prospect of training and playing with the mix of players in the Scotland squad.
"The hard work starts now - I'll have to step my game up again."
Meanwhile, Wales coach John Kear has included four uncapped players in his 19-man squad to face France in Albi on Saturday.
St Helens' Matty Fozard, who returns early from a pre-booked holiday to play for his country, Barrow's Dalton Grant, North Wales Crusaders' Owain Griffiths and Paul Emanuelli of South Wales Scorpions have all been drafted in.
Ashley Bateman misses the trip due to an injured ankle while Joe Burke is also out for personal reasons.
