Kevin Sinfield passed the 4,000 point total for his career as Super League leaders Leeds Rhinos romped to a 48-22 win over bottom-of-the-table Wakefield at Headingley Carnegie.
Loose forward Sinfield, who was back in the side after a three-match absence, became just the fourth player in rugby league history to pass 4,000 points when he converted a Zak Hardaker try.
And Rob Burrow, another Leeds legend, went over twice in the first half to pass 1,000 points for the Rhinos and move level with Ade Gardener in seventh place on the all-time list of Super League try-scorers.
Wakefield contributed plenty to an entertaining affair but were well beaten in the end and have now lost seven games in a row.
Ryan Hall opened the scoring for Leeds after 10 minutes when he touched down a grubber kick from Burrow and Sinfield converted from the touchline to move within a point of 4,000.
However, Wakefield quickly responded, Tim Smith stepping and dummying his way to the line.
Former England captain Sinfield was then handed an easy task to bring up the 4,000, as Hardaker went over right under the posts following a great run from Kallum Watkins and a final pass by Liam Sutcliffe.
However, Wakefield managed to level once again, Craig Hall running 90 metres to score after intercepting a Hardaker pass.
The Rhinos continued to play in expansive fashion and were soon in front once more, Burrow passing 1,000 points after working the short side and then receiving an inside pass from Hall.
And Burrow was at it again soon afterwards, crossing under the sticks after a Carl Ablett break.
Wakefield fought on and were back within eight when former Rhinos favourite Ali Lauitiiti made a try for Jarrod Sammut.
However, Leeds completed the first-half scoring with another fine try, Stevie Ward making the clean break this time, before sending Watkins over.
There was a 15-minute hiatus in the scoring after the break before Danny McGuire, who had only just entered the fray made a Rhinos try for Ash Handley with a lovely cut-out pass.
Andy Yates then went over from close range to score his first Leeds try and Watkins bagged his second of the night when he intercepted a Sammut pass, Sinfield converting both to make it eight from eight on the afternoon.
Wakefield had the last word when Daniel Smith did really well to force the ball down but it was just a consolation and the Wildcats have now lost on their last 10 trips to Leeds in a row.
