Super League: London Broncos v Hull KR preview
Last Updated: 26/07/14 2:27pm
London Broncos have just six Super League fixtures remaining in the 2014 schedule in which to register their first win of the campaign, starting with Hull KR on Saturday.
The already-relegated Broncos are bottom of the table after 21 rounds, although the capital club have been giving youth a chance - which bodes well for playing in the Championship in 2015.
The Broncos went down 58-16 to table-topping St Helens last Saturday, while the Robins have lost their last two against Leeds Rhinos and Salford Red Devils respectively.
Hull KR slipped three points behind Widnes following last Sunday’s defeat and caretaker Chris Chester knows they must topple the Broncos to keep their top-eight hopes alive.
Broncos coach Joe Grima has made one change to last week's 19-man squad with Atelea Vea coming back from suspension to replace the injured Alex Foster.
Jordan Atkins looks set for a place in the side after he was named last week but missed out through concussion.
“Atelea Vea is going to be back after serving a one week suspension, which is going to be great for us as he holds up the edge, carries the ball strong and gets quick play the balls," Grima told the club’s official website.
Fine to play
“Jordan Atkins is back this week after an issue with concussion against Warrington. Scott Moore has had a light week this week but he should be fine to play at the weekend.
“Joe Keyes got a shoulder knock, he's on minimal training today but we done some contact yesterday and we'll see how his shoulder pulls up. Alex Foster has got a hip issue that he's getting scans on and we'll know more about that later."
Hull KR coach Chris Chester has made four changes to his squad for the trip to The Hive with youngsters Macauley Hallett and Connor Robinson included.
The duo have impressed in the club’s Under 19s and will both make their first-team debut if selected, whilst Ade Gardner and Greg Eden also return to the squad. Graeme Horne, Keal Carlile, Kris Keating and Omari Caro all make way.
“We need more consistency,” Adam Walker told the club’s official website. “We need the energy and honesty that we’ve been talking about with Chezzy and we need to get back to winning ways.
“It’s very tight around us and we need to be winning games. There’s no room for error now. Individual errors cost us at the weekend, I think I was guilty of making one too, so we’re all disappointed about that.”
