Castleford Tigers have confirmed head coach Ryan Carr has left the club.

Australian Carr, who only joined Castleford on a three-year contract at the beginning of the season, was absent from the team's last two matches due to personal reasons.

Castleford currently sit ninth out of 14 teams in the Super League.

In a statement, Castleford said: "Castleford Tigers RLFC can confirm that head coach Ryan Carr has left the club due to personal reasons.

"The club would like to thank Ryan for his efforts and wish both him and his family all the best for the future.

"Both Castleford Tigers RLFC and Ryan Carr will provide no further comment on this matter."
