Wakefield Wildcats v Wigan Warriors: Super League preview
Last Updated: 23/04/15 4:22pm
Wakefield entertain a Wigan side still on a high following their thrilling 30-20 victory over Warrington last time out.
It was a night to remember for Warriors fans as their team turned in an excellent display, as Ben Flower returned from suspension and it was announced that Sam Tomkins will re-join the club in time for the start of the 2016 season.
The victory was the Cherry and Whites’ fourth in their last five games and puts them third, just a point behind fierce rivals St Helens.
Wakefield on the other hand are rooted to the bottom of the Super League table, but after eight straight defeats they managed to stop the rot with a 44-16 victory over Halifax in the Challenge Cup in their last outing.
Given the display of his team at the DW Stadium last Thursday, particularly in the second half, it is little surprise that with no new injury concerns Shaun Wane names an unchanged squad. Last week’s unused men Matt Bowen and Larne Patrick are pushing for inclusion.
The Wildcats, meanwhile, bring in new loan signing Ben Kavanagh as well as Jordan Crowther and Reece James. Joe Arundel, Jarrod Sammut and Kyle Trout drop out of James Webster’s 19.
Wakefield Wildcats: Jordan Crowther, Pita Godinet, Craig Hall, Ben Kavanagh, Ian Kirke, Danny Kirmond, Ali Lauitiiti, Reece Lyne, Paul McShane, Jacob Miller, Jon Molloy, Richard Owen, Matt Ryan, Chris Riley, Nick Scruton, Mickael Simon, Daniel Smith, Tim Smith, Danny Washbrook.
