Brumbies full-back Julian Huxley will make an emotional return to action for the clash against the Chiefs on Friday.
The 30-year-old's career was put on hold in 2008 after scans revealed a brain tumour.
Huxley, though, has now received the all clear to play again - and after two appearances for the Brumby Runners side, he has been recalled for Super 14 action.
"This is a great occasion for Julian, his family and friends and the Brumbies and rugby community," said coach Andy Friend.
"For those out at Canberra Stadium on Friday night, they'll witness a great spectacle in more ways than one.
"You'll get to see Hux's return after a courageous fight back while the Chiefs are one of the most attacking sides in the competition."
The inclusion of Huxley is one of three new faces in the squad for the visit of the Chiefs - with 18-year-old Michael Hooper making his debut in the back-row and Colby Faingaa set to make his first appearances off the bench.
Tinkered
Fellow back-rower Faingaa is also 18 years old and is the younger brother of Reds duo Anthony and Saia.
Friend has also tinkered with his line-up for the match - with Matt Toomua coming in for the injured Christian Lealiifano, while Stirling Mortlock is back after a week's rest.
Mitchell Chapman comes into the pack to join Ben Hand in the second row, with Mark Chisholm named on the bench.
Sione Lauaki has been named in the Chiefs line-up for the trip to Canberra despite awaiting sentencing for assault.
Lauaki will discover his fate on May 6 after pleading guilty to punching a man in the face twice in a bar in Hamilton.
Coach Ian Foster has been forced into a number of changes, with Callum Bruce, Dwayne Sweeney and Romanag Graham all out.
Jackson Willison, Cullum Retallick and Tim Nanai-Williams all come in to the squad, with Ben Afeaki starting at prop.
