The Brumbies have made one change to their starting pack and shaken up their backline ahead of the Super 14 derby against the Waratahs at Canberra Stadium on Friday.
Blindside flanker Peter Kimlin gets his first start of the season while Tyrone Smith also receives his first run-on appearance at inside centre.
Smith's inclusion allows Wallaby captain Stirling Mortlock to revert to his more familiar role of outside centre with utility back Adam Ashley-Cooper also pushing out one to the wing. Clyde Rathbone makes way and drops to the bench.
Joshua Holmes will start at scrum-half against his former province, replacing Patrick Phibbs who drops to the bench.
Having maintained the status quo for the first three matches until a home loss to the Force, Brumbies head coach Andy Friend said the incoming trio had earned their places.
"Tyrone's been very impressive in his performances off the bench this season and he and Stirling have a good understanding of one another having played half a season with each other last year," he said.
"Like Tyrone, Peter has been solid through the first part of season after being part of the Spring Tour with the Wallabies at the end of last year.
"[Blindside flanker] Julian Salvi has put together three excellent performances but we've opted to go with a bigger flanker against what is a quality Waratahs pack."
"Josh has also earned his opportunity to start and will definitely test out the Waratahs defensive line."
Huia Edmonds makes his first appearance in the Brumbies' 22 for 2009, off the bench, while Shawn Mackay has been bracketed on the bench with Sitaleki Timani, who is in doubt after sustaining a knee injury representing the Brumby Runners against the Australian Barbarians on Sunday.
