Cardiff Blues boss Dai Young believes his side's league win over Edinburgh will count for nothing when they clash again in the Heineken Cup.
The Blues toppled Edinburgh 34-23 in the opening weekend of the season, but Young is expecting a tough clash at the Cardiff City Stadium.
"Despite our win in September, I'm sure Edinburgh will come to Cardiff feeling quite confident," Young told the club's official site.
"I think we've only beaten them twice of seven outings in the last couple of seasons so they have always been quite successful against us.
"In fairness to them they are a quality team and they always cause us problems."
Confidence
Edinburgh head coach Rob Moffat is confident his side can avenge their defeat to the Blues after winning back-to-back games ahead of the Heineken Cup.
He told the club's official site: "We go to Cardiff in a very positive frame of mind after the last couple of games, and mindful of the fact that in this competition, how you fare in the first couple of matches is crucial.
"We can take a lot of confidence from the fact we won all our home pool games last season, but we know the next step is picking up points on the road.
"We've done well in Cardiff in the recent past and I've been really struck by the determination of the guys to maintain that record and get our campaign off to a positive start.
"There's been an edge to training this week, just what you would want in the run-up to such an important game. It's now about carrying that into the match itself and making sure we come away with the right result."
Moffat welcomes Chris Paterson, Mike Blair and Ross Rennie back into his starting XV, while Netani Talei is on the bench.
However there is no place in the squad for new signing David Bishop.
