Cardiff Blues boss Dai Young has handed the No.15 jersey to Chris Czekaj for the Magners League derby with the Scarlets.
Czekaj had started on the wing against Castres but he now moves to full-back to replace the sidelined Ben Blair, with the New Zealander having been ruled out with a knee injury.
Tom James comes in on the wing, while Dafydd Hewitt gets the nod to partner Casey Laulala in the centres.
In the pack, Scott Andrews, Michael Paterson and Andries Pretorius are all handed starts.
The Scarlets welcome back centre Jon Davies for the trip to Cardiff.
The Wales centre has recovered from an ankle injury to partner Gareth Maule in the midfield.
Rhys Priestland is also included in the backs with Lions fly-half Stephen Jones named on the bench.
In the pack, Rob McCusker joins Johnathan Edwards and Josh Turnbull in the back-row, while Ken Owens gets the nod ahead of Matthew Rees at hooker.
