Cheetahs captain Naas Olivier has been dropped to the bench for the visit of the Lions on Saturday.
Olivier's demotion is one of five changes made by coach Naka Drotske, with Heinrich Brussow, Riaan Viljoen, Sias Ebersohn, Martin Muller and Philip van der Walt all drafted in.
Francois Uys and Kabamba Floors join Olivier among the replacements, with Waltie Vermeulen omitted from the 22.
The Lions have handed a first start to Rory Kockott for the trip to Coca-Cola Park.
The scrum-half replaces the injured Jano Vermaak, with ex-Leopard Michael Bondesio poised to win his first cap off the bench.
The other change made by coach John Mitchell sees New Zealand Sevens international James Kamana handed a first start after impressing off the bench.
Jaco Taute makes way for Kamana, with Michael Rhodes also named on the bench.
