The Crusaders are to hand Chris Jack his first Super 14 start in three years for the visit of the Waratahs on Saturday.
Jack, who is back in Christchurch after stints in England with Saracens and South Africa with Western Province, is promoted to the starting XV after being named on the bench for the past two weeks.
Scrum-half Andy Ellis has been ruled out of the clash after suffering concussion in the 26-26 draw with the Hurricanes, so Kahn Fotuali'i starts, with Willi Heinz named on the bench.
The Waratahs have delayed naming their starting XV as they wait on the fitness of Phil Waugh.
The Waratahs captain is rated as only for the clash, although Wycliff Palu has been declared fit to play.
Chris Alcock, who made his Super 14 debut in Waugh's absence last week, is on stand-by for the table-toppers.
