Tries either side of half-time from prop Fosi Palaamo and replacement centre Lee Blackett proved crucial as Leeds Carnegie defeated Dax in the European Challenge Cup on Friday night,.
The Guiness Premiership side followed last week's victory over Castres Olympique with a 23-20 success over the French side, taking them closer to a spot in the quarter-finals.
Argentinian-born fly-half Alberto Di Bernardo kept his side in the match with two penalties and a drop goal as well as landing both conversion attempts.
Opposite number Gavin Williams booted two penalties and converted tries by back-rower Pierre Caillet and winger Laurent Diaz, but it was not enough to prevent Dax sliding to a third successive defeat.
"Getting a win against any team in France is fantastic, and it was a great achievement for the whole team - we played a very good game," said Leeds coach Daryl Powell.
"I was particularly proud of the way we closed the game down, which is something we have only learned in the last six mnths. A good kicking game won us this match."
Victories against Rugby Calvisano both at home and away will ensure Leeds a place in the last eight.
