Glasgow will be buoyed by the return of skipper Alastair Kellock for the visit of Aironi on Friday.
Kellock has been sidelined since captaining Scotland to the series win over Argentina in the summer.
And the lock can't wait to get back into action.
"It's been a tough time for me over the past few months trying to get back fit again," said Kellock.
"I'm not a very good spectator because I'd much rather be on the park with the boys, so I'm delighted to get back involved.
"I now hope I can use all the hard work I've put in with the physio and fitness staff to my benefit and the team's benefit."
Aironi's squad has been hit hard by call ups for the autumn internationals, with only Giulio Toniolatti and Pablo Canavosio released to make the trip to Firhill.
That means there are wholesale changes across the side, with the likes of Gilberto Pavan, Giovanbattista Venditti, Andrea De Marchi and Joshua Furno coming into the line-up.
