Sean Lineen has urged his Glasgow side to make home advantage count when they host Biarritz in the Heineken Cup on Saturday.
The Warriors boss has made just one change from the side which defeated Cardiff Blues 21-5.
Chris Cusiter replaces Colin Gregor at scrum-half having recovered sufficiently from the flu bug that has affected the majority of the squad over the past few weeks.
"This is the first time during my time here that we've had a home start and we need to make it count," said Lineen.
"When in such an intense European competition the crowd can make a huge difference.
"This is Europe. We need to start well instead of making a cameo appearance later in the competition.
Rugby lesson
"The players have shown a fantastic work ethic for each other over the past two weeks and showed great character to win against a Cardiff side last weekend with five British (& Irish) Lions in it.
"The Biarritz team will contain some world-class players but there are now a number of Glasgow players hitting great form and this should be a good indicator of where they are, especially as most of them will be targeting a place in the Scotland squad ahead of November's Bank of Scotland Corporate Autumn Tests."
Biarritz coach Jean-Michel Gonzalez insists that his side won't take anything for granted ahead of the Heineken Cup opener.
The Basque outfit have been the form French club in recent weeks and last weekend's decisive 27-12 win over Top 14 Champions Perpignan rocketed the club up into third place in the domestic championship.
"Everything starts from scratch again," said Gonzalez, speaking to Sud Ouest.
"We're starting a new competition. Glasgow won away to Cardiff this weekend and they gave a lesson in rugby at Toulouse last year. We won't be taking our foot off the pedal."
Biarritz will finalise their preparations for this weekend's game by training at Old Anniesland, home of Glasgow Hawks - on Friday and Saturday.
