New Harlequins director of rugby Conor O'Shea has recalled fit-again Argentina centre Gonzalo Tiesi for the visit of Newcastle.
Tiesi has been sidelined since February, however he will partner Jordan Turner-Hall in the midfield for O'Shea's first match in charge.
Tom Williams has also been handed a place on the wing after David Strettle pulled out, with George Lowe promoted to the bench.
In the front row, Matt Cairns returns to join Ceri Jones and John Andress.
Former Quins back Charlie Amesbury will wear the No.15 jersey for Newcastle in one of five changes made by the Falcons.
Amesbury replaces Alex Tait, with Rob Vickerman, Chris Pilgrim, James Hudson and Will Welch also handed start as Steve Bates looks to freshen up his squad following the midweek win over Gloucester.
Fresh legs
And Bates admitted: "We're going down there with a lot of confidence on the back of Wednesday's result, but with such a short turnaround we have had a number of challenges to negotiate.
"Three games in six days is a big ask in anyone's book, and so there has been an element of bringing in some fresh legs.
"With just three days between matches there are also a few guys out with niggles, like Alex Tait and Danny Williams who are both carrying ankle knocks from the Gloucester game.
"There simply isn't enough time to get them patched up and back out there, but we have quality players coming into the side who, I am sure, will be keen to make an impact."
