Hurricanes coach Colin Cooper has recalled second row Jason Eaton for the visit of the Lions.
Eaton missed the victory over the Western Force after he was suspended by the franchise for a breach of team protocol.
Cooper has also named No.8 Rodney So'oialo and openside flanker Karl Lowe in his starting XV, with Victor Vito and Scott Waldrom making way.
Lions chief Dick Muir has been forced into one change for the trip to Wellington following the record-breaking 72-65 defeat to the Chiefs.
Willem Stoltz has been suspended so George Earl has been handed his Super 14 debut.
On the bench, Robert Kruger replaces Jonathan Mokuena and Walter Venter gets the nod ahead of Burton Francis.
