Munster will be without an Ireland hooker Jerry Flannery for their Heineken Cup clash with Treviso at Thomond Park.
Flannery suffered a calf muscle tear in training, with scans confirming he now faces at least three weeks on the sidelines.
Denis Fogarty will make his first start in the competition as Flannery's replacement, having previously appeared 10 times off the bench.
And head coach Tony McGahan admitted was a blow to lose his first-choice hooker.
"Of course it's disappointing, particularly so for the player himself but Denis has been around this squad a long time and fits in well," he said.
"He's worked extremely hard over the last 18 months of his rugby career to get an opportunity to start a Heineken Cup at home and I know he's thrilled and certainly looking forward to it."
Treviso travel to former champions Munster buoyed by their shock 9-8 win over Perpignan.
Brendan Williams is promoted from the bench to replace Emiliano Mulieri on the wing, with former Wasps centre Fraser Waters named among the replacements.
