Chris Paterson will have the chance to nudge the Scotland selectors when he pulls on the Edinburgh shirt against Munster on Saturday.
Scotland's record points-scorer started from the bench in the nation's first two Six Nations matches, with Edinburgh team-mate Hugo Southwell preferred at full-back.
Paterson and centre Nick De Luca are the only two Edinburgh players from the Scotland 22 which lost to France on Saturday who will start at Musgrave Park this weekend.
Edinburgh's other key Scotland internationals have all been rested for the clash against the European champions.
Outside centre Ben Cairns and back-row forward Allister Hogg - who captains the side - will also start after being dropped from national-team duty following the Six Nations opener against Wales.
New signing Scott MacLeod could make his debut after being named on the bench, as could Bruce McNeil.
Ryan Grant makes his first Magners League start at prop while winger Mark Robertson and flanker Alan MacDonald return from absences.
