Dan Carter will get his first taste of European rugby on Sunday when he lines up for Perpignan against Leicester in the Heineken Cup.
It's about as high-pressure as it gets for a debut - Perpignan have to win or face elimination. Carter therefore, in most people's eyes, has just 80 minutes to justify his huge salary.
Carter's insertion at the expense of David Mele is one of three changes to the side that fell at Leicester last week, with Gerrie Britz preferred at flank to Jean-Pierre Perez and Olivier Olibeau replacing Rimas Alvarez Kairelis.
All three replaced players drop to the bench, with Farid Sid making way for Carter in the matchday 22. Also on the bench is centre Jean-Philippe Grandclaude who has recovered from a leg injury.
Leicester Tigers have made just one change to their squad with French scrum-half Julien Dupuy keeping Harry Ellis out of the starting XV.
Perform
Following a 38-27 bonus-point win at Welford Road last weekend, Tigers go to Stade Aime Giral with a record of three wins out of three in this season's European competition.
The only change to the matchday 22 is the inclusion of England international scrum-half Ellis on the bench after his recovery from a back injury which forced his late withdrawal last Saturday.
"This is a new experience for me as a coach, sending a side out against the same opposition in successive weeks," said Tigers head coach Heyneke Meyer.
"The players can take confidence from the win last weekend but that game is over now, they have to go out and perform again.
"We have to be completely focused on this game and we are definitely looking forward to it."
