Rebels boss Tony McGahan has handed a starting debut to Jack Debreczeni for Friday's Super Rugby encounter with the Reds.
Debreczeni has previously appeared off the bench for the Rebels, suitably impressing to earn the 15 shirt for the Australian Conference derby, with Jason Woodward switching to the wing.
McGahan has also included Australia Under-20s captain Sean McMahon and Wallabies scrum-hlaf Luke Burgess in the side.
Nic Stirzaker has recovered from an ankle injury to provide back-up to Burgess on the bench.
The Reds have made one change to their starting XV for the clash in Melbourne.
Nick Frisby is named at scrum-half in place of Will Genia, who is out for the remainder of the Super Rugby season with an ankle injury.
Coach Richard Graham also welcomes back Saia Fainga'a, Ben Daley and Lachie Turner from injury, with the trio named on the bench.
Fainga'a and Daley missed the Highlanders match due to calf and thumb injuries respectively, while Turner has been out of action since March after damaging his ankle.
