First-half tries from Chris Robshaw and Ugo Monye set up a much-needed victory for Harlequins in their London derby at Saracens on Sunday.
Scrum-half Danny Care played a pivotal role in both scores in another dominant performance as Quins claimed just their third win since the end of October with a 15-6 score.
Sarries got off on the wrong foot when goal-kicking stand-off Glen Jackson was injured in the warm-up, but replacement Gordon Ross soon made his mark with a fifth-minute penalty.
But it was scant reward for their early possession and Quins worked their way into the game, Adrian Jarvis kicking them level after 18 minutes with the help of an upright.
They were soon back on the attack and Care burst through following good lineout ball and his pass inside gave flanker Robshaw a clear run to the line.
Jarvis failed with the conversion attempt and Sarries were close to leveling five minutes later - the video official judging Chris Jack to have slipped into touch before getting the ball down.
But it was the visitors who went further clear on 33 minutes, Will Skinner taking his own chip forward before Care's precise chip through found Monye in space to cross for a quality score.
Jarvis made it 15-3 and Sarries were in danger of losing touch, although Ross reduced the gap to nine four minutes after the break with a successful penalty kick.
However, he was unable to convert another effort approaching the hour mark and although there was plenty of time to get back into it, Quins penned them in their own half with some gritty defence.
Ross had time to miss with another attempt at goal with three minutes left and Harlequins could finally relax with the points in the bag.
