The Scarlets were indebted to tries from hooker Ken Owens and Liam Williams, as well as 19 points from the boot of outside-half Owen Williams.
A good passing move involving Liam Williams and Jonathan Davies resulted in a penalty from a ruck which Owen Williams kicked after only four minutes.
The Scarlets snuffed out a dangerous Glasgow attack before winning a second penalty at a ruck and Williams once again made no mistake to give his side a 6-0 lead on 14 minutes.
That became 13-0 four minutes later as Scarlets claimed the opening try started and finished by Owens, who squeezed over by the posts, as the home side went through the phases through their forwards.
But Glasgow got on the scoreboard with a penalty for outside-half Ruaridh Jackson on 22 minutes although Williams restored Scarlets' 13-point lead.
Jackson notched his second penalty before Glasgow pressed for their first try, with the Scarlets given a let-off when Ali Kellock knocked on just five metres short of the line.
Scarlets went in for their second converted try when Liam Williams ran in after combining well with George North down the right touchline and that was followed up by a third Owen Williams penalty as the Scarlets opened up a 26-6 lead on 51 minutes.
Any hopes of Glasgow getting back in the game were dashed when replacement outside-half Duncan Weir struck a post with a penalty shot from just outside the Scarlets' 22.
After Williams slotted over his fourth penalty the Scarlets attempted to stretch their lead even further but despite Gareth Davies going over under the posts, the TMO did not award the try.
