Llanelli coach Phil Davies is to hand 18-year-old full-back Daniel Evans his first start for the visit of Leeds to Stradey Park.
Davies, who left Leeds in the aftermath of their relegation from the Premiership in 2006 to take over the reins at the Scarlets, has no doubt that Evans can make the most of his opportunity.
"Morgan Stoddart is carrying a knock - nothing too serious - so we've brought Daniel in," said Davies.
"It's a big opportunity for him but one I'm sure he will grab with both hands."
Davies has made nine changes in total from the side that lost to Bristol, with Wales captain Stephen Jones reunited with his international half-back partner Dwayne Peel.
Return
Fellow Welsh internationals Alix Popham, Daffyd James, Mathew Rees and Iestyn Thomas also return to the line-up, while Bruce Douglas gets a rare start at tighthead prop.
The other changes see Scott MacLeod come in at lock and James Bater named in the back row.
Carnegie director of rugby Stuart Lancaster is relishing the chance to go head-to-head with former Leeds chief Davies.
Former Welsh international Davies helped guide Leeds in to the top flight and the Heineken Cup, only for the club to be relegated in his final season before heading to Llanelli.
Lancaster was handed the task of rebuilding the side, managing to see Leeds to promotion in his first year in charge.
And now he can't wait to meet up with his mentor at Stradey Park.
He told the club's official site: "There is no doubt we will be tested on Friday down at Stradey Park.
Preparation
"Playing against Llanelli, a side full of internationals, will be great preparation for our European games and for our next four games in the Guinness Premiership as Leicester, Bath, Sale and Wasps all have their fair share of Test stars when we play them.
"These are the games that players love to play in and obviously from my point of view I am looking forward to catching up with Phil Davies.
"There is no one more aware than me of the contribution Phil has made to the growth and evolution of the Leeds Carnegie team over the last 10 years.
"He has had huge influence on me personally and without a doubt I would not be where I am today without him.
"That said we don't expect any favours and we will all be looking forward to the trip and testing ourselves at the highest level."
Lancaster has made eight changes for the trip to Wales, with Argentine back rower Martin Schusterman making his return to the team after his World Cup exploits.
In the backs Tom Biggs, Jonny Hepworth and Darren Edwards all return, while Colin Noon, Stuart Hooper, Pablo Bouza and Mark Lock add their weight to the forwards.
