Scotland new-cap Alan MacDonald is relishing the chance to make his debut against Argentina at Murrayfield on Saturday.
The Edinburgh flanker has been called into the Scotland side in place of John Barclay after impressing for the A team against Tonga.
And now he is determined to prove he is worth his place in the line-up against the Pumas.
MacDonald said: "It was a great moment when coach Andy Robinson took me aside and gave me the news that I was in the side.
"It is good to be coming into a team who have been winning, but what the guys have achieved is history new. All the focus is on this single game against Argentina.
"I felt I had performed pretty well for the A team on Friday and I have been chomping at the bit to get my chance.
"I have been asking Andy time and time again what I could do to improve my level of performance - and I have been running about like a madman at training."
Changes
Scotland go into the match on the back of their historic 9-8 victory over Australia.
However coach Robinson is refusing to rest on his laurels with the inclusion of MacDonald one of three changes for the match.
Ben Cairns and Thom Evans have also been promoted from the second string, with Graeme Morrison and Simon Danielli missing out.
Argentina coach Santiago Phelan has made six changes as the Pumas look to finish te season on a high.
Leicester prop Marcos Ayerza, hooker Alberto Vernet Basualdo, lock Manuel Carizza and flanker Alejandro Campos have been called into bolster the pack, with Rodrigo Roncero, Mario Ledesma, Mariano Sambucetti and Tomas Leonardi missing out.
In the backs, London Irish scrum-half Alfredo Lalanne is recalled at the expense of Agustin Figuerola, while Federico Martin Aramburu comes in on the win in place of Mauro Comuzzi
