Scotland head coach Frank Hadden has been forced into making four personnel changes for Saturday's final autumn Test against Canada at Pittodrie.
Full-back Chris Paterson, wing Thom Evans and flanker Jason White have been omitted after suffering injuries in the 14-10 defeat to South Africa at Murrayfield last weekend.
After missing that game and the previous Saturday's defeat to New Zealand, the fit again Simon Taylor replaces Allister Hogg at number eight.
Also drafted in are wingers Simon Webster and Nikki Walker, with Alasdair Strokosch coming in at flanker and Rory Lamont switching to full-back.
Max Evans is included in a senior Scotland 22 for the first time after being named on the bench.
Hadden said: "There is an element of freshening up the squad and it's also an opportunity to look at certain blends ahead of the Six Nations but, as ever, the selection is about winning the game."
Paterson blow
Paterson's absence means Phil Godman will take over the kicking duties.
The fly-half combined with Dan Parks to miss four shots at goal against the Springboks last weekend, their inability to take the chances on offer costing the hosts dear.
While admitting the loss of Paterson is a blow, Hadden has faith in Godman to come good.
He said: "We have the best goalkicker in the world in Chris Paterson. So, of course, everybody else doesn't look so good by comparison.
"It's a bit of added pressure for Phil but we think he's capable of dealing with that. We see it as a real opportunity for him."
Scrum-half Ed Fairhurst will lead Canada against Scotland after captain and hooker Pat Riordan was injured against Wales.
Reluctant
The match will also see a debut for Sean Duke on the wing as Canada go in search of a much-needed win at Pittodrie.
The only changes in the pack are forced after injuries to veterans Riordan and prop Jon Thiel.
Scott Franklin, who last played for Canada at the midyear Churchill Cup, joined the squad on Sunday after Thiel tore a calf muscle in the 34-13 loss to Wales.
Franklin was named at tighthead prop on Tuesday, moving Mike Pletch into hooker.
With Ander Monro having reluctantly returned to his Italian second-division club as his parents' home was only a short drive north of Aberdeen, 20-year-old Matt Evans received his first start at fly-half.
Ciaran Hearn has been brought in off the wing to fill out the centers with Ryan Smith, who scored an intercept try against Wales.
The match will complete Canada's tour, which started with a win over Portugal at Lisbon, an embarrassing loss to Ireland at Limerick, then redemption against Wales.
