Scotland are looking to restore pride after defeats to New Zealand and South Africa but Tonga will be no walkovers.
The Pacific Islanders are only two places below Scotland in the world rankings and Brown said: "There will be a lot of physicality as these island sides always bring a lot of passion.
"They've also got players right through the side that have that little bit of magic, so we've got to make sure that we really stick to our defensive structure and impose ourselves on them."
Scotland coach Andy Robinson has made changes for the clash at Pittodrie Stadium, with Henry Pyrgos, Kyle Traynor, Scott Lawson, Max Evans, Alastair Kellock and Alasdair Strokosch coming into the side.
"The guys coming into the squad - particularly Ally Kellock and Rory Lawson - have been around a long time," added Brown.
"There is a core of experience throughout not only the match-day group, but the greater current pool of 32."
There was a late call into the match-day squad for Glasgow Warriors loosehead Gordon Reid, who will operate from the bench after club-mate Ryan Grant failed a fitness test on a calf injury.
Grant's absence results in a first cap for young prop Kyle Traynor, who has impressed in the early parts of the season at Bristol.
Tonga coach Mana Otai has made one change to his side following their 22-13 win over the United States, with flanker Hale T-Pole replaces Leicester Tigers star Steve Mafi.
