Edinburgh coach Rob Moffat has made four changes to his starting line-up for the Pool Four match against Stade Français at the Stade Jean-Bouin on Saturday.
Scotland internationalists Chris Paterson, Ross Ford and Ben Cairns all return to the side while the fourth alteration sees Scotland 'A' flanker Roddy Grant reclaim the openside jersey after coming off the bench last weekend.
It will be Edinburgh's first fixture across the channel since they defeated Castres twelve months ago.
At half-back, Phil Godman retains his spot combination with captain Mike Blair and the 27-year-old stand-off is now just sixteen points short of recording a century in the Heineken Cup.
"It is a great first fixture, although we realise it will be a tough game out there," said a confident Godman.
Pinnacle
"Everyone knows what a prestigious team Stade Francais are - they have got quality throughout the team.
"But we know we are capable of getting a result in Paris if everyone plays at the top of their game.
"It would be great to make an impact in the Heineken Cup this season; it is the pinnacle of the club game."
Meanwhile, Stade Français have named in-form centre Mark Gasnier on the wing for their opening Heineken Cup clash of the season.
In a strong-looking tight five, Rodrigo Roncero and Sylvain Marconnet line up either side of Dimitri Szarzewski with Tom Palmer and Pascal Pape behind.
