Stormers v Bulls: Teams

Joe Pietersen and Bryan Habana have been handed starts as the Stormers look to make sure of their play-off place.

Pietersen, who will move to Bayonne in the Top 14 next season, has recovered from a hip injury to return to full-back, while Habana is fit again to come in on the wing.

Gio Aplon moves to wing to accommodate Pietersen, with Sireli Naqelevuki dropped from the matchday squad.

In the pack, Wicus Blaauw takes over from JD Moller at loosehead prop, with Argentinean Eusebio Guinazu providing cover from the bench.

Rest

Bakkie Botha will skipper a new-look Bulls team at Newlands, with six players set for their first caps.

There will be two debutants in the starting XV with Deon Helberg and Gerrit-Jan van Velze starting on the wing and flank respectively as coach Frans Ludeke opts to rest a number of his star players.

Okkie Kruger, Ruan Snyman, Francois Brummer and Stefan Watermeyer are set to make their first appearances off the bench.

Ludeke has also handed Tiger Mangweni, De Wet Barry, Chiliboy Ralepelle and Dean Greyling their first starts of the season - although the quartet all have a wealth of Super Rugby experience.

And Ludeke has defended his decision to rest some of his key players.

"We had to rest some of our senior players, who have played all the matches this year and up to 960 minutes of rugby," he said.

"It is a good mix of experience and youth and also pays justice to our youth structures."
