The Stormers have turned to Tim Whitehead to replace the injured Juan de Jongh for the visit of the Cheetahs to Newlands.
De Jongh has been ruled out the match with an elbow injury, with Whitehead getting the nod ahead of the more experienced Dylan des Fountain and Frikkie Welsh for the No.12 jersey.
Winger Gio Aplon is also set to start, with Fijian Sireli Naqelevuki dropping to the bench.
Willem de Waal is also named on the bench ahead of Lionel Cronjé after playing for the Vodacom Cup side for the past three weeks.
Hendon Scholtz replaces the injured Heinrich Brüssow for the Cheetahs in their only change for the match.
Veteran lock Barend Pieterse is promoted to the bench after David de Villiers suffered a shoulder injury in training and he is joined by centre Corné Uys.
