Toulouse 54-15 Zebre: French giants brush aside visitors

Toby Flood scored a try and kicked 14 points as Toulouse overpowered Zebre 54-15 and romped to their second win in Pool Two.
Italian side Zebre made a flying start when hooker Tommaso Apice's third-minute try was converted by Carlo Canna, but the French side hit back with six first-half tries to secure their bonus point and effectively wrap up the contest before the interval.
No 8 Gillian Galan, Samoan wing Paul Perez, full-back Yohan Huget, centre Arthur Bonneval, fly-half Flood and South African prop Gurthro Steenkamp all went over, while Zebre's only riposte in the first period came via a Canna penalty.
Zebre mustered their second try shortly after the break through Johannes Meyer, but Perez touched down for a second time and substitute Yann David also went over, with Flood booting his seventh conversion as Toulouse cruised to victory.
The win means Toulouse are top of their pool, but will likely be usurped by the end of the weekend with second-placed Wasps and third-placed Connacht clashing at the Sportground in the other fixture in the group.
