Wales hooker Huw Bennett insists a strong set-piece will hold the key to toppling the free-flowing Fijians in Cardiff on Friday night.
Wales are still smarting from their defeat to the Pacific islanders in the 2007 World Cup when they got drawn in by Fiji's renowned running game.
And Bennett believes that Wales need to focus on taking on the tourists upfront if they are to record their first win of the autumn internationals.
"The scrum and lineout have been good so far," said Bennett.
"Fiji are a powerful attacking team, and they like to play when they have the ball in their hands.
"We know we have to tire them out through the set-piece, and we know that will help us through the game."
Changes
The inclusion of Bennett is one of nine changes following the 29-25 to the Springboks last time out.
Dan Biggar, Aled Brew and Ian Gough are among those included - with George North, who scored two tries on his debut, Lee Byrne, James Hook, Paul James, Adam Jones and Jonathan Thomas all retaining their places, while Martyn Williams will play should Dan Lydiate fail a late fitness test.
Fiji have made a number of changes from the side that lost 34-12 to France last time out.
Michael Tagicakibau, Gabiriele Lovobalavu, Josh Matavesi, Campese Ma'afu, Villiame Veikoso and Ifereimi Rawaqa all come into the side as Fiji look to repleat their 38-34 victory from Nantes three years ago.
Coach Sam Domoni said: "We have a squad we can mix and match and our chances are good, compared to our lack of preparation time for last week's game.
"The boys have had more time around each other and more time to gel. We have a good backline and a good pack of forwards and we are backing ourselves and playing for each other, it should be a cracker of a game."
