Wales coach Warren Gatland has urged his side to get the basics right when they face Scotland in the RBS Six Nations on Saturday.
The Welsh go into the clash at the Millennium Stadium on the back of a disappointing 30-17 defeat to England.
At Twickenham, Wales were made to pay for poor lineout play and sloppy ball retention - as well as the sin-binning of Alun-Wyn Jones.
And Gatland knows that improvements are needed against Scotland.
He said: "We were happy with our scrum, which got us back into the game, but the lineout was disappointing.
"With only six out of 11 (takes) from that (lineout) phase, it didn't help us to set in place a platform to get backs like Jamie Roberts into the game. We have to be a lot stronger there.
"We also have to try to keep the ball more and play through phases, because every time we went past fourth phase against England we ended with a positive result of a try, a penalty or a line-break.
"So we have stressed how important it is to keep the ball and play with an intensity to put Scotland under pressure."
Gatland has made just two changes to his line-up for the back with Leigh Halfpenny and Jonathan Thomas added to the starting XV.
Space
Tom James and Luke Charteris both miss out, however Gethin Jenkins has recovered from injury to return on the bench.
Scotland wing Thom Evans is hoping the recall of Dan Parks will create the space for him to exploit.
Parks takes over the No.10 jersey from Phil Godman, who struggled against France in the 18-9 defeat on Sunday.
And although the selection of Parks hints that Scotland are likely to opt for a more tactical kicking approach, Evans believes his Glasgow team-mate can help him unlock the Wales defence.
"I feel he improves my game a lot, tells me where to be at certain times and keeps me focused," Evans said.
"His kicking to hand is second to none and he can put the ball in a breadbasket whenever you want it. Obviously, that's going to help our chances this Saturday.
"It's a long time since he's been in a Scotland jersey and he thoroughly deserves to be back in the team."
Parks is joined by Euan Murray, Jim Hamilton and Rory Lamont in four changes made by Scotland coach Andy Robinson - with Sean Lamont stepping into the outside centre role.
