The Waratahs welcome Dean Mumm back from suspension for the visit of the Sharks to Sydney on Saturday.
Mumm, who skippered Australia's midweek side on tour, has served a two-match ban so will partner rookie Kane Douglas in the second row, with Dave Dennis moving into the back row and Ben Mowen dropping to the bench.
And Tahs coach Chris Hickey admitted the return of Mumm was always going to force him to shuffle his pack.
"It was always going to be a bit of a juggling act to see how Dean would come back into the team," said Hickey.
"It was one of those dilemmas that coaches like to have when a number of players are performing well in their position, and it only adds to the questions when there's players such as Dave and Mummy who can fill more than one role.
"We know Ben will really give us some good punch at the end like he did in the Queensland game, and certainly everyone on the bench has an important role to play for us on Saturday."
Changes
England fly-half Andy Goode will make his first start for the Sharks as coach John Plumtree attempts to turn the season around.
Goode made a disappointing debut after joining on loan from Brive, with the former Leicester No.10 having been sin-binned after coming on as a replacement against the Crusaders.
However Plumtree has opted to move Ruan Pienaar to scrum-half and call Goode into the side at 10.
In a number of changes following the heavy loss to the Crusaders, Riaan Swanepoel comes into the back line, while Jacques Botes starts in the back row and Deon Carstens, John Smit and Jannie du Plessis form a new-look front-row.
