Wasps’ director of rugby Dai Young was pleased with his side’s opening 65 minutes while Bath coach Mike Ford bemoaned their scrummaging performance.
The home side’s scrum superiority proved the bedrock of a fine 29-22 Aviva Premiership win over Bath on Sunday, in front of a season-best crowd at Adams Park.
Andy Goode geared up for Wasps' move to his home city by landing 16 points with the boot, while Sailosi Tagicakibau's score, a penalty try and Elliot Daly's long-range penalty secured victory.
Obviously we changed a few players, which we had to do with those guys started to feel the effects of what was a pretty physically demanding game, and we lost a bit of physicality which let them back into the game.

Micky Young, Leroy Houston and David Young were sin-binned in an indisciplined performance that consigned Bath to their second league defeat of the campaign.
Jonathan Joseph, Young and David Sisi hit back with late tries, with George Ford slotting a penalty to secure a losing bonus point.
"For 65 minutes I thought that we were outstanding; we delivered everything we talked about,” Young told the club’s official website.
“Obviously we changed a few players, which we had to do with those guys started to feel the effects of what was a pretty physically demanding game, and we lost a bit of physicality which let them back into the game.
Pressure
“Their substitutes came on and put us under a bit of pressure up front but we certainly would have taken that result before the game.
“Bath are a real quality outfit and I thought we put them under severe pressure for 65 minutes, stopping them playing, but they showed how good they are in coming back towards the end of the game.
We're fourth after six games, after playing some decent opposition. If we can put it all together, we're going to be there or thereabouts.
Mike Ford
“Everything we talked about we delivered. We had a spell just after half time when we had a few pressure moments during which, if we had come away with points, we could have killed the game off.
"With fifteen minutes to go I knew that Bath weren't dead and buried, they are always going to come back at you and luckily we held them off.”
Meanwhile, Ford bemoaned his side's uncharacteristic scrimmaging performance, finding solace at least in their recovery from 29-0 down.
"It is disappointing, but it's not all doom," he said. "You can't be that far off the pace in the set-piece in this competition.

"It was 29-0 at one stage, so we are pleased with the character and the response of the team."
