Frenchman Julien Dupuy was the Leicester hero as he scored and converted a late try to pinch a narrow victory at Worcester.
The Tigers looked like losing their unbeaten start to the season in front of a record Sixways crowd with 12 minutes to go, before Dupuy darted over the line try that tied the scores.
With Toby Flood in the sin bin, Dupuy was also on kicking duties and he held his nerve to convert his own try and that two points proved enough for the win.
The Warriors had beaten champions Wasps by a point last week and tries from Matt Mullan and Netain Talei had given them a chance of another huge upset, especially when Loki Crichton's penalty made it 17-12 with 20 minutes left.
Kicks
Leicester had been restricted to just four Flood penalties, but despite the fly-half being in the sin bin, the 14-man Tigers managed to grab the all-important try through Dupuy.
Worcester also lost Australian star full-back Chris Latham late on as he left the field injured on his debut.
Flood gave Leicester the lead with his penalty, but the Warriors looked more likely with ball in hand and they duly scored the opening try 22 minutes in when Mullan bounded his way through some weak tackles to go over.
Worcester missed further try-scoring chances and two more kicks from Flood put the Tigers back in front at 9-7 five minutes into the second half.
The hosts responded brilliantly though and Talei burst forward from halfway and the Leicester defence could not catch him as he made it across the line - with Crichton's conversion making it a deserved 14-9 lead.
Close
A fourth penalty from Flood kept Leicester within two points, and they had a man advantage when flanker James Collins was yellow carded for Worcester for a challenge on Tom Croft.
Flood soon followed into the sin bin though after killing the ball, and Crichton took full advantage by kicking the resulting penalty for a five-point lead at 17-12.
Leicester managed to pile on the pressure though and eventually it reaped a try with Dupuy scampering over the line, before crucially converting to put the visitors ahead.
Worcester had a late chance to win it when substitute Matthew Jones missed a 40 metre penalty chance and Leicester survived to take the points.
