Highlights of Elisabetta Cocciaretto against Coco Gauff in the Qatar Open

World No 5 Coco Gauff lost in straight sets to the world no 57 Elisabetta Cocciaretto - a shock 6-4 6-2 upset in just the second round of the Qatar Open.

The reigning French Open champion lost in an exhausting 5-7 6-7 doubles match with Canadian Victoria Mboko just yesterday, and her fatigue showed against the Italian as Gauff lost in just over 90 minutes.

The American No 1 put up more of a fight in the first set, but was broken three times in the second set by the impressive Italian - she entered the contest as a lucky loser, but she now picks up her first win in four tries against Gauff.

After crashing out of both the singles and doubles in two days, Gauff will have a chance to redeem herself in just five days when she enters the Dubai Tennis Championships.

Highlights of Iga Swiatek against Janice Tjen in the Qatar Open

World No 2 Iga Swiatek made quick work of her second-round Qatar Open match, beating Indonesian Janice Tjen 6-0 6-3 to advance to the round of 16.

Swiatek started formidably, not allowing her opponent to win a single game in a 25-minute first set. The world No 46 battled back though, with an early break in the second set, but the Swiatek broke straight back and settled the match with a break late on to secure a 6-3 second set win, and the match in turn.

The tournament's top seed will now face Australian Daria Kasatkina in the round of 16.
