Simona Halep through to Wimbledon third round
Thursday 5 July 2018 17:56, UK
Top seed Simona Halep needed an excellent run of 10 consecutive games won to help her past Saisai Zheng at Wimbledon on Thursday.
Halep won 7-5 6-0 in the second round after overcoming a difficult first set, in which she was 5-3 behind against the world No 126.
Five of the top eight women's seeds were already eliminated but Halep, who reached the final of the Australian Open and won the French Open this year, remains in the hunt as she looks to improve on her semi-final finish at the All England Club in 2014.
