There will be an all-Serbian final at the WTA Monterrey Open after Ana Ivanovic won her semi-final battle with Caroline Wozniacki to set-up a clash with compatriot Jovana Jaksic.
Ivanovic won her battle of the former world No 1s in straight sets, but it was a tough battle with Danish star Wozniacki before she came through 7-6 6-4.
Second seed Ivanovic is searching for her 13th WTA Tour title at the $500,000 Mexican hardcourt event, and it will be her second final of the season having beat Venus Williams at the ASB Classic.
Fellow Serb Jaksic will be standing in her way in Sunday’s final, after the 20-year-old defeated veteran Kimiko Date-Krum in the other semi-final.
The Japanese veteran is 23 years older than Jaksic, but the youngster managed to come back from a set down to emerge with a 6-7 6-4 6-4 victory.
